We’re thrilled to share that Bidhaa Sasa has received a grant from the Siemens Stiftung, enabling us to further invest in the training and empowerment of our group leaders. This partnership is all about giving rural women the tools and knowledge they need—not just to use our products, but to become advocates and leaders in their communities.
Why Training Matters
Our group leaders are not traditional sales agents; they’re trusted community members who bring friends and neighbors together in a familiar, supportive environment—much like hosting a Tupperware party. These women are early adopters, enthusiastic about sharing products that have improved their own lives, and they help spread the word to others in their social circles.
With this grant, we’re funding regular training sessions where these leaders can build skills in marketing, financial management, and product knowledge. These sessions are more than just workshops; they’re a place for our leaders to learn from each other, celebrate their successes, and gain confidence in a role that’s new to many of them.
Building a Network of Empowered Women
Over the next year, we’ll be hosting small, in-person training events for groups of about 20 leaders at a time, close to their communities. In these sessions, they’ll learn best practices for leading group financing initiatives, handling product-related questions, and managing payments within their client groups. The goal is to create a peer network where women feel supported, capable, and proud of their contributions to their communities.
With Siemens Foundation’s support, we’re able to grow this grassroots network, building a sustainable model that allows our leaders to gain income, respect, and new skills while helping to improve access to affordable products for rural families. It’s a true win-win, and we’re grateful to have Siemens Foundation by our side on this journey.
