In 2021, Bidhaa Sasa embarked on a transformative journey to digitize our last-mile operations, partnering with the Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) through their Venture Catalyst program. This collaboration aimed to streamline our customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, enhancing efficiency and scalability.
With CCA’s support, we integrated our IT and data systems into a unified online platform accessible via smartphones. This digitization enabled consistent and transparent customer management across our branches in Kenya and Uganda. Key initiatives included customizing key performance indicators, implementing training programs, and optimizing business processes based on data analytics.
Reflecting on the impact, our co-founder Rocío Pérez Ochoa stated,
“The support from the CCA has been crucial for strengthening our internal data and IT capacity to fully digitize our business in preparation for scaling. Having most business functions in one place and making them accessible via a smartphone anywhere and by anyone was a challenge but it resulted in a cutting-edge ERP that will allow the business to grow in multiple geographies.”
